Our worship services our both in person plus online live via Zoom, via eNews E-mails, and replayed on YouTube. Our office is open Tuesday-Friday 10am-2pm (hours may vary). The Lending Library is open during office hours. “Come, look at the selection of books the next time you are at the church.”

Welcome, Julian Munro, Student Minister

We are pleased to welcome Julian Munro (middle bottom) as our Student Minister in a two-year, half-time Supervised Ministry Education appointment.

They begin on September 1, 2026.

We are excited to support and nurture them on their journey toward becoming a minister in The United Church of Canada.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

We welcome to the pulpit, Julian Munro. Julian (they/them) is doing a Master of Divinity and a Masters of Psychospiritual Studies graduating (May 2027) and has been approved by The United Church of Canada to continue their journey toward ordination. Julian will be with Ebenezer United Church for a 2-year Supervised Ministry Education (SME) term working as our minister as of September 1, 2026.

Refreshments, fellowship, with UCW, Beverley Fujimoto and Marilyn Tankard. We are so blessed to have volunteers to support and encourage our time of fellowship together. All are welcome to stay and enjoy a warm drink and a friendly conversation.

Looking for something to read? There are new books in our Lending Library by popular authors like: Tom Clancy, Sandra Brown, Michael Connelly, and more.

BOOST THE BOX PROGRAM The next date for pick-up of Good Food Boxes is September 15th. Please consider bringing some non-perishable food and personal items to help “boost” the boxes of fresh food from YRFN for families in need. Thank you.

Offerings You may leave a donation in the offering plate at the entrance to the sanctuary.

If you would like to be part of the PAR program, please speak with Jacquelin or leave a message at the office. Please indicate who the donation is from.

Heritage United Church – Quilts for Wildfire Evacuees

Help by donating quilts call Carol DeGeer at 416-283-1841 or email Heritage United Church at heritageunitedchurch@gmail.com. Handmade Quilts will be sent to Kiikenomaga Kikenjigewen Employment & Training Services, an Indigenous skills and employment training organization serving the 9 Matawa First Nations communities in Northern Ontario, Thunder Bay in early October.

SPLC FREE 6-week Workshop for Caregivers. Taking care of someone is rewarding, but it can also be stressful. This practical workshop helps family caregivers build confidence, reduce stress, and handle daily challenges.

We Are Collecting

Clothes: men’s, women's & children's, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, belts, backpacks, etc.

Household Textiles: bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.

Small Household Goods: kitchen items (such as pots/pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, serving pieces and hand-held appliances), home decorative items, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics.

Books & Media: paperback, hard cover – all genres.

*media needs to be boxed separately

*no encyclopedias or text books

REMEMBER: Value Village FUNDrive Items can be dropped off at Ebenezer United Church on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. (Call or email Susan at the church office if you need to arrange a drop off before October 23.)

What you should know

The United Church of Canada Foundation was established in 2002 to manage trusts and endowments to support the work of the church. A number of funds have been created. Congregations benefit from the Foundation in many ways including grants to support congregations for the service provided to their communities.
